Tampa General will partner with Kendra Scott Jewelry from Nov. 28 – Dec. 15 and 20% of sales will be donated to support the TGH Children's Hospital.

November 21, 2022 – Tampa General Hospital (TGH) has partnered with jewelry designer Kendra Scott to raise funds for the TGH Children's Hospital. From Nov. 28 through Dec. 15, 20% of any in-store purchase will be donated back to the TGH Children's Hospital when Tampa General Hospital is mentioned during checkout. Purchases can be made online with a specific code listed below.

As a part of this generous partnership, TGH Children's Hospital's very own patient family, the Goodes, spent the morning in the Kendra Scott Jewelry location in Hyde Park Village to design a suite of jewelry in memory of their daughter, Lyla.

Lyla's Story

At 14 months old, Lyla became completely paralyzed and began to receive treatment at TGH Children's Hospital. Over the past nine years, Lyla braved monthly visits for IVIG (intravenous immune globulin) infusions to help treat her condition. During these monthly treatments, Lyla and her family truly became a part of the TGH family.

"It got to the point where Lyla actually looked forward to her infusion days because it meant she got to see her TGH family. The team at TGH Children's Hospital is so special, they always went above and beyond to make Lyla comfortable. Our insurance offered to provide in-house treatments, but Lyla decided she didn't want to because she would miss her monthly visit to TGH to see some of her favorite people," said Rachel Goode, Lyla's mom.

This September, Lyla passed away, and her family is so thankful for the care their daughter received that they would continue to support TGH Children's Hospital in the years to come. Their first mission in remembering their daughter is creating the "Lyla Suite" at the Kendra Scott Hyde Park Village.

The "Lyla Suite" includes the Pearl Beaded Pendant Necklace with an amethyst stone for $60, and the Stretch Bracelet with the night opal stone for $45. When asked how they made their design decisions, Lyla's brother, Drew, said, "I know one of my sister's favorite colors was purple. The moment I saw the amethyst stone in the Kendra Scott Jewelry store in Hyde Park, I was immediately reminded of Lyla."

Additional accompaniments include the "TGH Suite" featuring TGH's signature blue stone, Cobalt Cat's Eye, in the TGH stud earrings for $40 and the TGH pendant for $55.

The jewelry is available for purchase at the Kendra Scott store in Tampa's Hyde Park Village, 1511 W. Swann Ave. You can join Tampa General representatives and the Goode family for a "Kendra Gives Back" Party on Saturday, Dec. 3 from 10 a.m. – noon. Shoppers will enjoy sips, sweets, and one-of-a-kind jewels. For online purchases of all Kendra Scott jewelry items, shoppers must use code GIVEBACK-DDTGB to support the TGH Children's Hospital.

The Goode family is also starting a foundation in Lyla's name that will help support TGH Children's Hospital, as well as other nonprofits supporting children in the Tampa Bay area. For more information, visit www.lylagoodefoundation.org.
