S Korea donates medical equipment to Azerbaijan's Ganja City Hospital
South Korea donates 500.000 $ worth of medical equipment toAzerbaijan's Ganja City Hospital.
Azernews reports that on October 15, the lateststage of cooperation between the State Agency for CompulsoryMedical Insurance and the South Korean government took place. Aspart of S Korea's "Official Assistance to Small Volume Development"program, medical equipment was donated to Ganja City UnitedHospital. This initiative aims to protect the health of vulnerablegroups in Azerbaijan, particularly children, and improve theiraccess to medical services.
Zaur Aliyev, Chairman of the Board of the Agency, stated, "Themain goal of the project is to increase both the availability andquality of medical services in our country. These equipments willprovide the population of the region with access to quality andmodern medical services with mandatory medical insurance."
Vugar Gurbanov, executive director of TABIB, highlighted theimportance of the partnership in improving healthcare workers'skills and providing essential medical equipment, noting that itcontributes to the sustainable development of Azerbaijan’shealthcare system.
South Korean Ambassador Lee Eun Yong added, "For the treatmentof cardiovascular diseases, it is necessary to provide medicalcenters with the most modern medical equipment. Our embassy hasjoined hands with the State Agency for Compulsory Medical Insuranceto ensure that citizens of Azerbaijan can receive safe andefficient medical services."
The donated equipment includes various essential devices, suchas a defibrillator, anesthesia machine, artificial respirationdevice, and others, valued at $500,000. This donation followsprevious S Korean assistance efforts in Azerbaijan, includingequipment for maternal and child health and examination boothsduring the COVID-19 pandemic.
