Hillsdale College raising funds for Hillsdale Hospital equipment needs

Oct 14, 2024

HILLSDALE — Hillsdale College is encouraging its employees to support the local community by donating to Hillsdale Hospital’s Capital Giving Campaign.

Among other equipment, Hillsdale Hospital is raising funds to purchase a Hana Fracture Table — a state-of-the-art orthopedic table that facilitates a wide range of operations on hips, knees, legs, and feet.

“We are blessed with an excellent community hospital, managed by our neighbors and serving us with efficiency and courtesy,” said Hillsdale College President Dr. Larry P. Arnn. “We are grateful for it.”

“Hillsdale Hospital is grateful for the friendship we have with Hillsdale College and the Hillsdale College community,” said Hillsdale Hospital Chief Communications Officer Rachel Lott. “Dr. Arnn and his administration understand the value of independent, locally-controlled healthcare. Their support of our capital campaign demonstrates their commitment to us and to the broader community that we serve.”

The table costs $150,000, and the college will contribute two dollars for every dollar donated by a college employee until the full amount is raised.

“Dr. Arnn is always looking for ways the college can give back to the community,” said Diane Philipp, vice president for student affairs and a board member of Hillsdale Hospital. “Hillsdale Hospital has provided excellent care for our faculty, staff, and students, and we are grateful to partner with them in their effort to serve the community even better.”
