New South Wales real estate: Penthouse at former Sydney hospital could break Paddington suburb record
A conversion on the market could break the suburb record for Sydney's Paddington.
The penthouse at the former Royal Hospital for Women at 10/18 Flinton Street, "sets a new benchmark in grandeur" and is listed with price hopes of $20 million.
Paddington's suburb record of $12 million was broken this month with the $14 million sale of "Brompton" – twin terraces turned into a five-bedroom, five-bathroom home.
The penthouse is on the books of Ben Collier of The Agency Eastern Suburbs.

Occupying the top floor of the old Royal Hospital for Women, established in 1901, the penthouse contains four bedrooms and four bathrooms.
Interiors are luxurious and offer a sense of endless space with soaring ceilings, crisp whitewashed walls, floorboards, plush drapes and statement pendant lights.
The entertainer's kitchen will delight foodies with its generously sized Calacatta marble island and top-notch Gaggenau appliances.
There is also a library and home office, as well as a heated pool, gym, spa and sauna in the complex.

The buyer and their guests will be able to soak up the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge, harbour and city skyline views, from one of the four timber verandahs.
Should the $20 million price guide be achieved, it would break the suburb record.
The five-bedroom, five-bathroom home called Brompton at 238-240 Glenmore Road sold earlier this month for $14 million.
Twin terraces, dating from 1877, were transformed into a grand stately home over a five-year period.
Domain's latest data reveals the median price for a home in Paddington is $3,112,500. The median price for a unit is $825,000.
